It doesn't get much sweeter than this, Gleeks.
Sixty Los Angeles fifth-graders from Norwood Elementary School and Rio Vista Elementary School had a musical holiday on the Paramount lot Tuesday, as part of? "Glee's" ongoing collaboration with the American Express Members Project.
Using the lot's very tall Christmas tree as the centerpiece, Fox created a winter wonderland replete with real snow and set up tables around it so the students could make their own musical instruments -- guitars, egg shakers and jingle bells -- with the cast and executive producers of "Glee."
Once the instruments were in hand, everyone went inside for a special performance. The students entertained the "Glee" cast, producers and volunteers with two songs: "It's in My Desk" and "Don't Stop Believin.'" Fox and "Glee" gave $100,000 to Education Through Music, which forms partnerships with schools that serve disadvantaged children and lack music programs.
You can see it all for yourself in the video above, but you might want to have some Kleenex handy when the children perform the Journey song that kick-started it all.
"Glee" ends the first half of its second season Tuesday with its Christmas episode. The show returns to the Fox lineup for a special post-Super Bowl episode on Feb. 6 and resumes on Tuesdays beginning Feb. 8.
